El militar francés Charles du Monriez, personaje de gran ambición, recorrió la península ibérica, entre 1765 y 1767, y como resultado de sus viajes elaboró un plan de invasión de Portugal, ya que las relaciones entre España y la monarquía lusa atravesaban momentos difíciles por sus contenciosos fronterizos en América y por sus respectivas alianzas internacionales. No obstante. la expulsión de los jesuitas españoles propiciará un cambio inesperado en cl contexto internacional vigente tras la Paz de Paris.

This paper try to show how the practices of sociability operated in the Eighteen Century Spain like one of the most suitable tools to get the insertion of the military people in the civil society. Identified the militaries like actors of Enlightenment sociability this essay is developed from three aspects: 1-studying the progressive incorporation of the militaries in the spaces of sociability most important, the Royal Academies, the Sociedades Económicas de Amigos del País and the social gathering. 2-valuing their grade of compromising situation with their projects and the activities made by they. 3-searching the connexions with other social, cultural and professional collectives which are present in them.
