Tejiendo redes en la Corte: la casa de Guadalcázar en el siglo XVIII e inicios del XIX

    El linaje de los Alfonso de Sousa experimenta un proceso de ascenso y consolidación en el siglo XVIII que le llevará a ser titular de casa de Guadalcázar en 1730 y a alcanzar la Grandeza de España de primera clase en 1781. Las oportunidades que les brindó el entorno cortesano, gracias a un doble matrimonio, fueron más allá de las buenas relaciones de parentesco.

    A través de este trabajo se analizan los mecanismos y procesos que ayudaron a su engrandecimiento ya que, partiendo de un segundo plano en la nobleza local cordobesa a finales del XVII, con su instalación en la Corte a inicios del XVIII y con unas estrategias familiares tendentes tanto a la perpetuación del linaje familiar como a la conservación del patrimonio, les permitió convertirse en uno de los mayores propietarios estatales a mediados del XIX.

      The lineage of the Alfonso de Sousa family underwent a process of ascent and consolidation in the eighteenth century that led them to be the owner of the Guadalcázar house in 1730 and to reach the first-class Grandeur of Spain in 1781. The opportunities offered by the court environment, thanks to a double marriage, went beyond good kinship relations.

    Through this work, the mechanisms and processes that helped to its aggrandizement are analyzed. Although they started from a secondary role in the local nobility of Cordoba at the end of the 17th century, with their settlement in the Court at the beginning of the 18th century and with some family strategies tended to the perpetuation of the family lineage and to the preservation of heritage, they became one of the largest state owners in the middle of the 19th century.
