El objetivo de nuestro estudio es dar una visión general de la trayectoria en el siglo XVIIIdel convento recoleto de San Lorenzo de Montilla, perteneciente a la provincia franciscana de Granada.Durante esa larga etapa cronológica el cenobio goza de un reconocido prestigio por la austeridad y la práctica rigurosa de las reglas que definen el estilo de vida de la comunidad. Al mismo tiempo, su indudable relevancia viene dada por el noviciado existente en la clausura y las enseñanzas de filosofía yteología moral impartidas a los estudiantes coristas de la recolección. También contribuye a su prestancia el haber vestido el hábito y profesado el patrono de la ciudad San Francisco Solano.

The aim of our study is to give a general vision of the path in the 18th century of the peacefulof the St Lawrence Montilla’s convent, belonging to the Franciscan province of Granada. During thislong chronological stage the monastery enjoys a recognized prestige for the austerity and the rigorouspractice of the rules that define the way of life of the commnunity. At the same time, his undoubted relevancy comes given by the existing novitiate in the closing and the educations of philosophy and moraltheology given to the students chorus-singers of the compilation. Also the dressed credit contributesto his excellence the habit and practised the employer of the city San Francisco Solano.
