  A lo largo del presente estudio analizaremos la institución islámica del Maristán de Granada, el manicomio nazarí, desde varias perspectivasque nos permitan dar un carácter holístico a nuestro ensayo. Así atendere-mos aspectos como su infraestructura, la asistencialidad en el mundo islá-mico medieval, su relación con el poder político o el posterior desarrolloespacial del edificio, todo ello bajo el objetivo común de la comprensión dela asistencia al enfermo en la sociedad nazarí.

  Throughout this study we will analyze the Islamic institution of the Maristan of Granada, the hospital of the insane, from several perspectives that allow us to give a holistic character to our essay. In this way we will address aspects such as its infrastructure, welfare in the medieval Islamic world, its relationship with the political power or the subsequent spatial development of the building, all under the common objective of understanding patient care in Nasrid society.
