Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar la historia de la Biblioteca Virtual de la Filología Española (BVFE), desde su nacimiento en 2010 hasta la actualidad. En estas páginas se explica el origen del repositorio, su desarrollo, los problemas que ha planteado en sus años de vida, las cifras que lo avalan, las explotaciones que han tenido sus materiales en el ámbito de la historiografía lingüística y de la lexicografía histórica fundamentalmente y las perspectivas de futuro.

This paper aims to present the history of the Biblioteca Virtual de la Filología Española (BVFE), from its birth in 2010 to the present. These pages explain the origin of the repository, its development, the problems that it has raised in its years of life, the numbers that support it, the exploitations that have had its materials in the field of linguistic historiography and historical lexicography fundamentally and future prospects.
