    En el marco de la circulación internacional de ideas y las redes de transmisión entre la península ibérica y el Nuevo Mundo, la reforma del sistema de correo en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII fue trascendental pues, entre otras cosas, permitió que un número de novedades editoriales llegaran a Sudamérica. Entre ellas, figuraban las Instituciones políticas de Jakob Friedrich von Bielfeld, cuya presencia en este ámbito geográfico no ha sido estudiada. Sobre la base de documentación inédita, inventarios de bibliotecas y prensa periódica, se analizarán los canales por los que la obra llegó a España y la suerte que allí corrió. En segundo, se establecerán cuáles eran los medios por los que los libros llegaban al Cono sur entre mediados del siglo XVIII y hasta bien entrado el siglo XIX. Finalmente, se estudiará la presencia y el impacto que la obra tuvo en ambas jurisdicciones

    Within the framework of the international circulation of ideas and the transmission networks between Spain and the New World, the reform of the mail system in the second half of the 18th century was transcendental, since it allowed numerous new publications to reach South America. Among those were the Political Institutions of Jakob Friedrich von Bielfeld, whose presence in this geographic area has not yet been studied. Based on unpublished documentation, inventories of libraries and the press, the channels through which the aforementioned book arrived in Spain and its fate will be thoroughly analysed. Moreover, the manner in which books arrived in the Southern cone between the mid-18thcentury and well into the 19th century will be also analysed. Finally, the impact and the presence that Bielfeld ́s work had on both jurisdictions shall be studied
