Resumen de Lexicografía temática puertorriqueña: el “vocabulario tan copioso como útil” de Zacarías Vall Espinosa (1886-1887)

  Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el contenido de los repertorios léxicos que se encuentran en el Compendio de la Novísima gramática (1887, continuación de la Novísima gramática para aprender a leer, hablar y escribir rápida y correctamente el idioma inglés, 1886) del reverendo protestante de origen español Zacarías Vall Espinosa. El vocabulario que, según su autor, constituye la parte más importante para los aprendices de segundas lenguas, se distribuye en dos compilaciones diferentes: una temática, en donde sustantivos, adjetivos y verbos se reparten en diferentes ámbitos designativos, y otra con las voces de las Antillas, Jamaica y Puerto Rico. Tras mostrar el contexto en que fueron compuestos los repertorios de Vall Espinosa, se presenta el análisis de los repertorios (macroestructura y microestructura) con el fin de descubrir su contribución a la historia del léxico y de la lexicografía española del área antillana

  This paper analyzes the content of the lexical repertoires of the Compendio de la Novísima gramática (1887, continuation of the Novísima gramática para aprender a leer, hablar y escribir rápida y correctamente el idioma inglés, 1886) of the Protestant reverend of Spanish origin Zacarías Vall Espinosa.

  The vocabulary that, according to its author, constitutes the most important part for second language learners, is distributed in two different compilations: one thematic, where nouns, adjectives and verbs are distributed in different designative fields, and another with the voices of the Antilles, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. After showing the context in which the Vall Espinosa repertoires were composed, the analysis of the repertoires (macrostructure and microstructure) is presented in order to discover their contribution to the history of lexicon and Spanish lexicography of the Antillean area
