    El 11 de diciembre de 2017 se inauguró el Museo Ibero. El proyecto ha sido una apuesta importante de la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía en Jaén, que reconoce así los esfuerzos de la sociedad de Jaén que a lo largo de más de 20 años ha luchado por visibilizar el valor histórico y el interés patrimonial de las huellas de la cultura ibera que tiene en Jaén una especial relevancia, de la que dan prueba los numerosos y extraordinarios restos de esta cultura que han formado parte de grandes muestras nacionales e internacionales. El museo, obra en la que han participado diversos equipos de arquitectura a lo largo del tiempo en que se ha construido, aún está por finalizar; aún no está materializada su colección a la falta de la firma de un acuerdo entre Administración del Estado y Comunidad Autónoma y, este “impasse” dificulta que pueda salir a licitación el montaje museográfico. Hoy parece que se clarifica el acuerdo con el Estado para hacer del Museo Ibero un museo nacional, pero entre tanto, trabajamos en la puesta a punto del material, trasladando al museo y restaurando materiales de la colección Junta de Andalucía y actualizando y mejorando el proyecto expositivo para que todo esté a punto para su pronta licitación.

    The Iberian Museum was inaugurated on 11th December, 2017. The project has been an important commitment by the Culture Office (o “Culture Department” o directamente en español) of Junta de Andalucía in Jáen, which this way recognizes the effort of Jaén’s society which for more than 20 years has been strug gling todraw attention to the historical value and the assetinterest of the traces of the Iberian culture, which has a special importance in Jaén, as it is shown by the large and extra ordinary remains of this culture, which have been part of great national and international exhibitions. The museum, a construction in which different architecture teams have worked throughout the time of its building, is still to be finished; its collection has not been materialized yet, in the absence of anagreement between the Spanish Government and the Autonomous Community and this impasse makes it difficult the bidding for a public contract of the museum setting up. Nowadays, it is seems that the agreement with the Spanish Government to make the Iberian Museum a national museum is becoming clear, but mean while, we are getting the material ready, bringing to the museum and restoring materials of the Junta de Andalucía and updating and improving the exhibition Project for every thing to be ready for its promptbidding for a public contract.
