  Dos poemas diferentes, escritos en el siglo XIX, han llegado hasta nuestros días con el título de El Panteón del Escorial. Uno es obra del poeta Manuel José Quintana. El otro, con polémica incluida, ha sido atribuido a Bartolomé José Gallardo. El objeto de este trabajo es el de analizar y comentar la primera versión de este último texto, publicada en el periódico El Español Constitucional, con la intención de estudiar la coherencia de contenidos, la expresión formal y las características principales que el poema presenta. Ello nos permitirá acercarnos al pensamiento del autor, el carácter del texto, y las fuentes a las que acude, lo que nos ayudará a deslindar su personalidad y su estilo y a establecer una hipótesis sobre la posible autoría de Bartolomé José Gallardo

  Two different poems, written in the nineteenth century, have come to this day with the title of El Panteón del Escorial. One is the work of the poet Manuel José Quintana. The other, with controversy included, has been attributed to Bartolomé José Gallardo. The purpose of this work is to analyze and comment on the first version of this last text, published in the newspaper El Español Constitucional, with the intention of studying the coherence of contents, formal expression and the main characteristics that the poem presents. This will allow us to approach the author´s thinking, the character of the text, and the sources he goes to, which will help us to demarcate his personality and his style and establish a hypothesis about the possible authorship of Bartolomé José Gallardo
