This paper focuses on the essential features of the technolithic process which shaped the Acheulian Sequence in the Lower Guadalquivir: 1) the basic complex (T6 to T9), is characterised by the appearance of the earliest macrolithic material. 2) This situation culminates, in the assemblages found in T10, in the development of a regional Full Acheulian, characterised by a marked growth in bifacial indices, which at times predominate. 3) From T11 onwards, despite the continuing presence of clearly-Acheulian material, the assemblages are typically post-Acheulian. 4) This altered substrate finally becomes Middle Palaeolithic by the low terrace T13, suggesting that they should be regarded as a Middle Palaeolithic specific to peninsular fluvial areas (or Middle Palaeolithic Quarry).
