    La presente aportación no es más que un conjunto de notas sobre una serie de conceptos presentes en el horizonte mental del Antiguo Régimen: el honor, la honra, el estatus, la preeminencia y un largo etcétera de términos con los que se hacía alusión al lugar que individuos e instituciones ocupaban en la pirámide jerárquica de aquellos siglos modernos y el tratamiento al que ese espacio les hacía acreedor en un mundo en el que el orden natural sancionaba el privilegio y la diferencia. Se trata de nociones etéreas e intangibles que difícilmente se pueden definir con meras palabras, a la vez que presentan un panorama cambiante e impreciso, sujeto a evolución y cambio. En esta ocasión, se pretende ver su presencia en los documentos para tratar de entender lo que suponían a través del contexto en el que aparecen.

    The present contribution is nothing more than a set of notes on a series of concepts present in the mental horizon of the Old Regime: honor, and being honored, status, preeminence and a long list of terms with which reference was made to the place that individuals and institutions had in the hierarchical pyramid of those modern centuries and the treatment that they were credited in a world in which the natural order sanctioned privilege and difference. These are ethereal and intangible notions that can hardly be defined with mere words, while presenting a changing and imprecise landscape, subject to evolution and change. This time it is intended to see their presence in the documents to try to understand what they meant through the context in which they appear.
