    En este artículo sostenemos que incluir la memoria social en la enseñanza de la historia y de las ciencias sociales para la justicia social del Pueblo Mapuche, contribuye a contrarrestar el control que se ejerce sobre los significados.

    Además, ayuda a complejizar los relatos prescritos por el currículo y las representaciones negativas que distribuyen los textos escolares. La investigación es de tipo cualitativo y se desarrolla en una comunidad mapunche3 cordillerana de la zona de Panguipulli, Región de los Ríos, Chile. El proceso de investigación consistió en la aplicación de entrevistas narrativas y en el análisis documental de una fuente primaria en torno a la llamada Ocupación de la Araucanía. Los hallazgos nos permiten visibilizar otros conocimientos y significados desde la perspectiva mapunche sobre el contenido escolar “Ocupación de la Araucanía”. Las conclusiones desafían la formación del profesorado para enseñar la historia del Pueblo Mapuche desde la justicia social

    In this article we argue that including social memory in the teaching of history and social sciences for the social justice of the Mapuche people, helps to counteract the control exercised over meanings. In addition, it helps to add complexity to the stories prescribed by the curriculum and the negative representations that are distributed by School texts. The research is qualitative and takes place in an Andean mapunche community in the Panguipulli area, Los Ríos Region, Chile. The research process consisted in the application of narrative interviews and the documentary analysis of a primary source around the so-called Occupation of the Araucanía. The Findings allow us to visualize other knowledge and meanings from the mapunche perspective on the school content "Ocupación de la Araucanía". The conclusions challenge teacher education in order to teach Mapuche People's History from “a social justice perspective.
