  Este artículo presenta un análisis general de la legislación chilena de imprenta en el siglo XIX y su relación con la expansión de los derechos de los individuos, durante los procesos de la Independencia y de la instauración del Estado Nacional. Asimismo, explora en los cambios y continuidades (conceptuales y punitivas) de esas leyes en tres momentos de la consolidación del liberalismo chileno: en el inicio (1810 - 1830), la medianía (1840 - 1850) y consolidación (1870 - 1880).

  This article presents a general analysis of the Chilean press legislation in the 19th century and its relationship with the expansion of civil rights throughout the processes of independence and establishment of the National State. Likewise, it explores the (conceptual and punitive) changes and continuities of said acts in three moments during the consolidation of Chilean liberalism: at the beginning (1810 - 1830), by the midterm (1840 - 1850) and at its consolidation (1870 - 1880).
