La National Gallery of Art (1937-1941), en Washington, DC, es un edificio neoclásico cuya tecnología está oculta. En nuevo Racionalismo logró desvestirlo por fuera. Por dentro, las salas están acabadas en función de la época de las obras destinadas a ellas. Además, sofás y plantas harían que el visitante se sintiera como en casa, pero el verdadero y aristocrático acabado doméstico fue el de los espacios privados, amueblados a la moda del neobarroco francés.

The National Gallery of Art (1937-1941), Washington, DC, is a Classic revival building whose modern machinery remained unseen. The coming Modernism managed to undress the outside. Inside, the exhibition galleries were finished depending of the period of the works of art they were intended for. Moreover, some sofas and plants would make the visitor feel at home, but the real domestic finishing, a real aristocratic one, was reserved for the private rooms, according to a French Baroque revival trend
