    En Granada aún se recuerda la resistencia que el Albaicín ofreció contra el levantamiento militar de 1936. Era entonces un barrio obrero con una fuerte y hegemónica presencia anarquista de la CNT y FAI. Mientras Granada sucumbía rápidamente a la sublevación militar, el Albaicín logró organizar con muy pocos recursos una lucha armada con las barricadas y parapetos como frontera. Cuando entendieron que no podían resistir más tiempo, huyeron por los montes, por el mismo camino que trazarán Los Niños de la Noche en sus salvamientos de evadidos. Este artículo recoge los diversos relatos de algunos de sus protagonistas e historiadores que la han reseñado, intentando establecer un hilo conductor que explique este acontecimiento, y cómo se ha conectado a través de los tiempos con distintas poblaciones en contextos muy diferentes.

    In Granada the resistance that the Albaicín offered against the 1936 military uprising is still remembered. The Albaicín was then a working class neighborhood with a strong and hegemonic anarchist presence of the CNT and FAI. While Granada succumbed quickly to the military uprising, the Albaicín managed to organize with very few resources an armed struggle with the barricades as a frontier. When they understood that they could not resist any longer, they fled through the mountains, forging the legend of The Children of the Night. This article collects the various stories of some of its protagonists and some local historians who have reviewed it, trying to establish a common thread to explain this event and how it has connected through time with different populations in very different contexts.
