Resumen de Las ordenanzas de las guardas de Castilla: la forma de conocer su existencia vital

  La historia de las guardas de Castilla es la del conjunto de ordenanzas que nacen desde su origen, a comienzos del siglo XVI, hasta el final de su existencia en la primera década de la centuria siguiente. En ellas se puede comprobar la preocupación del gobernante por dotar eficazmente a esta unidad y que cumpla con su servicio y funciones. No obstante, la cada vez más compleja situación internacional hará que sucesivamente las reformas que se proyectan desde el principio se vayan posponiendo una y otra vez, sin que su eficacia pueda demostrarse y, con ello, su razón de ser. En este artículo se hace un recorrido por esas ordenanzas y se pone de manifiesto la inoperatividad de las reformas, bien porque no se vigilan para su cumplimiento, bien porque se trasgreden y resultan ineficaces en sus objetivos renovadores.

  The history of the guards of Castile is that of the set of ordinances that originate, from the beginning of the sixteenth century, until the end of its existence, in the first decade of the next century. In these can be verified the concern of the ruler to efficiently equip this unit and to fulfill its service and functions. However, the increasingly complex international situation will cause successively the reforms that are projected from the beginning to be postponed again and again, without their efficacy being demonstrated and, therefore, their raison d’être. This article takes a look at these ordinances and reveals the inoperability of the reforms, either because they are not monitored for compliance, or because they are transposed and ineffective in their renewal objectives.
