A semejanza de lo verificado en un artículo anterior, centrado en el período 1690-1740 y publicado en 2009, el análisis de las crisis de subsistencias de 1746-47 y 1768-69 vuelve a revelar la ineficacia de las actuaciones del Concejo compostelano en tales coyunturas. Dicha ineficacia encuentra explicación en la escasez de recursos financieros que aquejaba a la institución municipal, pero también en el retraso en la toma de decisiones y en la deficiente gestión de las operaciones emprendidas. De ello se resentían gravemente el control del mercado interno, el aprovisionamiento desde el exterior y la atención a los numerosos pobres concurrentes. Y aunque en la segunda de las crisis citadas, sin duda la más grave, la actuación del Regimiento santiagués fue notablemente más encomiable, es evidente que, aun así, quedó muy por detrás de la que desplegaron el Arzobispo y el Cabildo catedralicio, que siempre eran quienes afrontaban esas delicadas situaciones de forma más decidida.

Similarity of verified in a previous article, focused on the period 1690-1740 and published in 2009, the analysis of crises of subsistances of 1746-47 and 1768-69 again revealing the inefficiency of the performances of the Compostela Council at such junctures. Such inefficiency finds explanation in the shortage of financial resources that endured to the municipal institution, but also in the delay in decision making and the mismanagement of operations implemented. It is badly resented the domestic market control, sourcing from abroad and the attention to the numerous concurrent poors. And although in the second of the crises mentioned, undoubtedly the most serious, the performance of the Santiago Regiment was notably more commendable, it is evident that, even so, was far behind what deployed the Archbishop and the cathedral Chapter, that always were those who faced these delicate situations in a more resolute manner.
