Resumen de Extremismo climático y peligro biológico en el sureste español (1780-1800)

La presente contribución analiza el impacto que tuvo la inestabilidad climática que en el hemisferio norte se desarrolló durante las últimas décadas del siglo XVIII. El área de análisis se circunscribe al sureste español, poniendo el acento en el sur alicantino. Se estudian los períodos de sequía y de exceso pluviométrico acaecidos, así como sus repercusiones socioeconómicas. De igual manera se realiza con los problemas biológicos surgidos en este período, tales como brotes de paludismo y plagas de langosta.

The current contribution analyses the impact that the climatic instability developed in the North Hemisphere caused during the last decades from the 18th century. The area of analysis is circumbscribed to the Spanish Southeast, especially the south part in Alicante. Drought and flood periods ocurred are analysed, as well as their economical consequences. Likewise, the same is done with the biological problems arisen along this period, such as paludism outbreak and locust plagues.
