Resumen de El teatro romano de Bracara Augusta y la urbanización del noroeste peninsular

  Identificado en 1999, el teatro romano de Bracara Augusta ha sido objeto, hasta el momento, de varias intervenciones arqueológicas que han permitido descubrir una parte significativa del edificio. A pesar de que se encuentra aún en estudio, disponemos ya de un número significativo de datos relativos a las diferentes partes organizativas del edificio (cavea, orchaestra, cuerpo escénico y porticus post scaenam), lo que hace posible restituir sus rasgos definitorios y su planimetría. En este trabajo serán prestadas las principales características del edificio y su reconstrucción planimétrica, al tiempo que se pondrá en valor la inserción urbanística de esta construcción y su significado en el contexto del proceso de urbanización del NO peninsular.

  Identified in 1999, the Roman theater of Bracara Augusta was the object of several archaeological excavations that allowed to uncover a meaningful part of the building. Thus, although it is still under study, we already have important data on the different organic parts of the building (cavea, orchaestra, scenic body and porticus post scaenam). In this paper it will be presented the main features of the building and its planimetry being equally reviewed its urban insertion and meaning within the context of the urbanization process of the NW of Iberian Peninsula.
