Lost in translation is a film with transience as a central theme. The film's topography leads to this understanding. Characters, places, spaces are permeated by the attribute of the interim, the ephemeral, the temporary. This paper seeks to analyze the film's narrative spaces - the hotel and the city - from the thought of the philosopher Martin Heidegger, establishing a contrast between the world of personal character and the shared world, consisting in interpersonal relationships and displacements along the city streets
