En la poesía de Domingo Rivero (1852-1929) siempre se ha señalado la importancia que tienen el cuerpo humano y los seres materiales cotidianos. En este artículo se investiga en la significación moral que adquieren los objetos materiales de uso diario en la poesía del autor grancanario. A través de este estudio quedará claro que las cosas materiales son expresión de su propia personalidad, compañeras inseparables de la vida del poeta, descanso para su trabajo, alivio para el dolor de la existencia y camino hacia la trascendencia cristiana. Más allá del plano individual, las cosas materiales serán punto de encuentro entre todos los hombres que interactúan con un mismo objeto. Además, se indaga en el origen de este interés permanente de Domingo Rivero por los objetos corpóreos: la propia corporalidad del ser humano y, por tanto, del suyo propio. En otro estudio se explorará otro aspecto íntimamente relacionado: la nueva humanización de la materia que se hace posible por la poesía

On the poetry of Domingo Rivero (1852-1929) the importance of the human body and the material beings has been always underlined by the criticism.
In this article the author conducts research into the moral significance of the material objects of the daily use in the poetry of this Grandcanary author. Through the study we will discover that material things are an expression of his own personality. They are also inseparable companions of the life of the poet, as well as a necessary rest after his work, a very important consolation for the pain of the existence and a way for the Christian trascendence. Beyond the individual level, the material things will be a meeting point among all the human beings who interact with a same object. Furthermore the author investigates the origin of this nent interest of Rivero on the material beings: the own corporality of the human being and therefore of his own being. In the future this author will do research into another aspect intimately related with that one: the new humanization of the material who carries out the poetic creation
