En este capítulo, el embajador de la República de Mali en España, Sékou dit Gaoussou Cissé reflexiona con el general director del Instituto Español de Estudios Estratégicos, Miguel Ángel Ballesteros Martín, sobre todos los aspectos que envuelven la profunda crisis que atraviesa Mali desde principios de 2012, así como el esfuerzo del gobierno de Mali y de la comunidad internacional para avanzar en su resolución. Mientras el terrorismo yihadista y el crimen organizado siguen muy latentes en el norte del país, la insurgencia tuareg y árabe comienza a vislumbrar una solución tras la firma del acuerdo de paz. A pesar de los avances, como coinciden ambos, el camino para lograr una paz duradera en Mali necesita mantener, e incluso fortalecer, el apoyo internacional.

In this chapter, the Ambassador of the Republic of Mali in Spain, Sekou Cisse dit Gaoussou talks to the General Director of the Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies, Miguel Angel Ballesteros Martin, on all aspects involving the deep crisis in Mali since the beginning 2012, and the efforts of the government of Mali and the international community to advance their resolution. As jihadist terrorism and organized crime are very dormant in the north, the Tuareg and Arab insurgency is beginning to see a solution after the signing of the peace agreement. Despite the progress, the way for lasting peace in Mali needs to maintain, and even strengthen, international support.
