Resumen de La revista "Feminal": fotografía y visualización de la aportación femenina a la renovación educativa en Cataluña 1907-1917

  En Barcelona, entre 1907 y 1917, se publica, con el nombre de Feminal y dirigido por Carme Karr i Alfonsetti, un suplemento femenino mensual de la revista la Ilustració Catalana. Feminal recurrió de forma sistemática a las fotografías para completar sus reportajes sobre cuestiones de actualidad. La orientación que Karr marca a la publicación responde a las ideas del feminismo conservador que propugna una mayor presencia pública de la mujer, sin dejar por ello de ser esposa y madre, mediante una modernización de su educación. Unos objetivos que se enmarcan y comprometen con el amplio programa regeneracionista que impulsa la burguesía industrial catalana en esta época y que tiene en la educación uno de sus ejes fundamentales. En este artículo se analiza el papel que tienen las fotografías para reforzar el discurso modernizador de la educación.

  In Barcelona, between 1907 and 1917, a monthly feminine supplement called Feminal run by Carme Karr i Alfonsetti was published in the magazine Ilustració Catalana. Feminal systematically resorted to photographs to round off its reports on current affairs. The orientation Karr sets the publication responds to the ideas of conservative feminism that advocate for a greater public presence of women, without ceasing to be a wife and a mother, by modernizing their education. These aims are framed in and committed to the broad Regenerationist programme promoted by the Catalan industrial bourgeoisie at the time, with education as one of its main axes. In this article we analyse the role of photographs in reinforcing the modernizing discourse of education.
