Resumen de Acerca de las interacciones entre brúquidos y legumbres subterráneas (Coleoptera: Bruchidae)

  Se analizan tres casos de posibles interacciones entre brúquidos y leguminosas con frutos subterráneos: a) Entre Bruchus tristiculus y Lathyrus amphycarpos; b) Entre Bruchidius murinus y Trifolium subterraneum; y c) Entre Caryedon serratus y Arachis hypogea. Se emiten hipótesis acerca de la naturaleza de estas interacciones y se concluye que en ningún caso los brúquidos hacen la puesta en legumbres enterradas, aunque en los dos primeros casos pueden hacerse puestas en legumbres semienterradas cercanas a la superficie, siendo el tercer caso un comportamiento atípico que se realiza sólo si las legumbres son exhumadas, como ocurre frecuentemente por intervención humana

  Three cases of potential interaction between seed bruchids and legumes with subterranean pods are analized: a) Bruchus tristiculus and Lathyrus amphycarpos; b) Bruchidius murinus and Trifolium subterraneum; and c) Caryedon serratus and Arachis hypogea. Some hypotheses on the nature of these interactions are presented, but we conclude that only in the first two interactions were possible the oviposition when pods are only superficially covered and lie close to the soil surface. In third case, oviposition is only posible following exhumation of the pods, usually by human intervention
