Resumen de El turismo en los espacios naturales protegidos en España: Una aproximación histórica

  El texto trata de ofrecer una perspectiva histórica sobre una modalidad turística que actualmente mueve a millones de personas cada año en los diversos espacios protegidos españoles (parques nacionales y parques naturales, principalmente). Comenzaremos exponiendo los orígenes del conservacionismo en España y la pluralidad de enfoques (romanticismo, institucionismo, higienismo, excursionismo, regulación cinegética...) que lo sostuvieron desde finales del siglos XIX hasta la guerra civil. Analizaremos el contexto y la significación de la primera normativa: la Ley de Parques Nacionales de 1916. Anotaremos la temprana consideración por parte de la administración del potencial turístico de los parajes naturales.

  Se presentan unas cifras de afluencia turística a los espacios protegidos y se resume el debate en torno al turismo sostenible.

  Al respecto, se trata el desarrollo de la aplicación de la Carta Europea de Turismo Sostenible.

  The paper aims to provide a historical perspective on a kind of tourism that currently moves million people every year throughout the Spanish protected areas (mainly to National and Nature Parks). We will start by exposing the origins of nature conservation in Spain and the plurality of approaches (romanticism, Institución Libre de Enseñanza, hygienism, hunting regulation, etc.) that supported it from late nineteenth century up to the Civil War.

  We will analyze the context and the significance of the first law, the National Parks Act of 1916, and will write down the early consideration of the tourist potential of natural sites by the Public Administration.

  So me figures about tourist influx in protected areas are provided and the debate on sustainable tourism is summarized. The development of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is shown in this regard.
