¿De una revolución a otra?: San Sebastián en 1789 y en 2011

    El presente trabajo contempla en perspectiva histórica el Movimiento 15-M y su presencia, altamente simbólica, en San Sebastián durante la primavera de 2011 en los mismos lugares en los que eclosionó la primera experiencia revolucionaria, en la estela de la francesa de 1789, al Sur de los Pirineos. Cotejando documentación de los archivos militares franceses, del provincial guipuzcoano y trabajo de campo en los asentamientos del 15-M el artículo concluye que existe una diferencia notable entre la intensidad, el alcance y los objetivos de ambas convulsiones sociales.

    This paper takes a look at the historical perspective of the 15-M Movement [the Indignant Ones] and its highly symbolic presence in Donostia-San Sebastian during the spring of 2011 on the very spot where the first revolutionary spirit surfaced in the wake of the French Revolution in 1789 to the south of the Pyrenees. By comparing documents from French military archives, from the province of Gipuzkoa and field work in the 15-M camps, the article concludes that there is a considerable difference between the intensity, scope and aims of the two social upheavals.
