The Preordovician rocks of the Buitrago-Somosierra area have undergone three penetrative phases of Hercynian deformation. The phases 1 & 2 are of tangentia/ character, FI probably generates a recumbent syncline Eastern vergence, whereas F2 generates a subhorizontal ductile shear zone of SE sense of movement.
