Resumen de Antropología y democracia: causalidad y necesidad

  La causalidad existente entre la aparición del pensamiento antropológico y la emergencia del sistema político democrático, es traida a colación por el autor. Para él, es tal la estrechez del vínculo entre antropología y democracia, que éste se traduce en una auténtica necesidad. La prueba última de esta relación la ofrece tanto el pensamiento histórico de los principales antropólogos como la oposición activa de muchos de ellos a los sistemas autoritarios. Actualmente se vuelve a deparar en esta relación, gracias a la presencia que la antropología, lejos de cualquier vínculo colonial, está adquiriendo en los sistemas políticos en transición a la democracia. Puede afirmarse que el debate en torno al colonialismo ha oscurecido durante mucho tiempo la visibilidad del vínculo entre antropología y democracia.

  The relationship between the existence of the anthropological thought and the democratic political system is suggested by the author. For him the union between anthropology and democracy is so narrow that it becomes a real necessity. This relation is shown either by the historic thought of many relevant anthropologists as well as by the active opposition of many of them to the non-democratic political systems. Nowadays we think again on that relationship, thanks to the presence that anthropology has in the countries changing to democracy. We can affirm that the polemic about colonialism has darkened the knowledge of the relationship between anthropology and democracy for a long time.
