THE PLANNED COMMUNICATION: qualitative study of the variable ones structures, management and values in the communication of the organizations. Doctoral thesis. Author: Francisca Morales Serrano.

The object of the present Thesis is study the structure, the management and the values in the Communication of the organizations from a hollistic approach. To advance in the investigation, to advise and to form professionals in the field that occupies to us it is essential to know how the communications structures are, how it is managed and which is its raw material: which are their values. What and how the organizations communicate. The knowledge problem is centred in:

To know how the communication is planned, to become a VALUE of the directive function of the organizations.

It is about an investigation process that is centred in two concrete sections, one of documentary and retrospective type, where secondary sources are worked. And another prospective, that is centred in the design and implementation of a field study, QUALITATIVE, that allows to enrich the studied with other primary sources. The proposed objectives have been obtained advancing through a work that began with a secondary investigation, reviewing the paradigms and the next theories. Followed of the exploratory phase that made a first direct contact with the study object, by means of the accomplishment of three depth interviews. The investigation of field, is made as empirical development of the Thesis and finalizes with the analysis of results and writing of conclusions. In the epistemologic section it defines the ORGANIZATION concepts, STRUCTURE, MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT OF the COMMUNICATION (values), STRUCTURE OF the ENTERPRISE COMMUNICATION, the COMMUNICATION DIRECTION, the COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR. In the empirical section implements a qualitative investigation of field, by means of standardized interviews opened to a sample of experts: 22 communicators, who belong 11 to consumption product companies and 11 to services organizations. The interviews had made to the maxim authority in communication of each one of them. The results allow us to conclude on 15 general variables and 80 items that speak to us of: STRUCTURE, SORTS and COMMUNICATION AREAS, MANAGEMENT, TOOLS, TECHNIQUES and METHODS, CORPORATIVE COMMUNICATION, COMMUNICATION OF CRISIS, COMMERCIAL COMMUNICATION, INTERNAL COMMUNICATION, COMMUNICATIONAL VALUES and INTANGIBLE VALUES. In about the abilities, methods and values, the conclusions are very significant in about the Public Relations, Corporative Social Responsibility, Culture and Corporative Identity, Image and reputation, importance of mark corporative and mark product.

It raises new investigation necessities: on the one hand, it speaks of the conceptual conflict that exists in the reference theories; by another one, it argues the necessity to advance in the design of curriculum academic efficient in the formation of the professional futures of the PLANNED COMMUNICATION. It fulfills the main objective raised at the beginning of the Thesis: it presents/displays an INTEGRAL MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION MODEL that, through four areas, plus a central axis, allows to articulate the structure and management of the communication, so that it can be a referring to the formation and of consultation to the management. It finishes with a future proposal that will have to be developed in new investigations. The communication of the organizations in general is RELATION, is LIFE, is EVOLUTION, is VALUE. But in addition it is ABILITY, it is PROFESSION, it is SPECIALIZED WORK, it is a necessary CHALLENGE in the KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT and the FORMATION of the futures professional, every day more essential within the DIRECTIVE FUNCTIONS of the ORGANIZATIONS. The investigation confirms that the COMMUNICATION is considered as a management strategic tool and is one of the main intangible values of the organizations. In addition, it is considered, indispensable to obtain the image and the reputation, necessary to reach the commercial objectives. Essential to obtain a suitable labour climate and necessary to anticipate crisis.
