Geologica acta: an international earth science journal

Geologica Acta is a scientific journal that aims at the publication of articles in the broad field of Earth Sciences. Its scope is twofold and includes: (i) relevant conceptual developments in any area of the geological sciences, and (ii) articles devoted in particular to the geology of Europe, the Mediterranean, America (with special emphasis on Latinoamerica) and other regions. The journal also undertakes the publication of thematic issues and monographic volumes that record the results of the activity of research groups who wish to present their results in an extended, integrated manner. These thematic issues will be promoted and co-ordinated by one or several scientific guest editors. Finally, there is an express section for short notes reflecting interesting results or works in progress and discussion/reply items. All articles sent for publication will be examined by the Editorial Board and, should they comply with the subject matter and conditions of the journal, will be sent for critical review to a minimum of two specialists chosen by the editorial committee. This committee reserves the right to publish or not to publish each article in accordance with the considerations of the reviewers.
