    El presente artículo brinda un panorama de la manera en que fue recibida la Constitución de Cádiz en la Nueva España, particularmente durante el periodo que va de septiembre de 1812 a agosto de 1814. El documento gaditano volvería a regir en suelo novohispano, pero esta vez por menos tiempo aún (mayo 1820-septiembre 1821). Como lo sugiere la segunda parte del título de este trabajo, la Constitución de 1812 fue cumplida de un modo parcial en el virreinato novohispano. Esto se explica, sobre todo, a causa de la situación bélica en la que se encontraba a raíz de la sublevación popular que inició el padre Miguel Hidalgo en septiembre de 1810.

    The present article gives an overview of the way in which the Cadiz Constitution was received in the Viceroyalty of New Spain. Particularly during the period that goes from September 1812 to August 1814. The Cadiz Constitution would be enacted once again in the viceroyalty, but during an even shorter period than the first time (May 1820-September 1821). Like the subtitle of this article suggests, the Cadiz Constitution was applied only partially in the viceroyalty: due mainly to the fact that the territory was under a state of war provoked by the popular uprising that the priest Miguel Hidalgo initiated in September of 1810.
