La VI Cumbre Unión Europea, América Latina y el Caribe: ¿Una cumbre de resultados?

    Este artículo pretende mostrar los resultados de la VI Cumbre Unión Europea (UE) - América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) realizada en Madrid, España, en mayo de 2010. Para este fin, se intentará contestar a las preguntas: ¿Cuál es el desarrollo que han tenido las cumbres Unión Europea- América Latina y el Caribe? y ¿Es la VI Cumbre Unión Europea- América Latina y el Caribe una Cumbre de resultados? Así, en un primera parte se ubicará el enfoque teórico de las relaciones UE-ALC vistas desde el concepto del interregionalismo, a partir de dos de sus clasificaciones:

    interregionalismo transnacional e interregionalismo híbrido. Posteriormente, se describirá el desarrollo de las Cumbres UE-ALC celebradas desde 1999; seguidamente, se identificarán los resultados presentados en la VI Cumbre UE-ALC a partir de la Declaración de Madrid 2010; por último, se proyectarán unas consideraciones finales que resaltan de forma concreta los resultados del encuentro interregional celebrado en Madrid, España, tendientes a reforzar la asociación birregional entre la UE-ALC.

    This article intends to show the results of the VI European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean Summit (LAC) carried out in Madrid, Spain on May 2010.

    To achieve this goal, the questions what is the development that the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean summit has had? And Has the VI European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean summit produced any results? will be answered.

    Thus, in the first part a theoretical framework will be provided about the relationships between the European Union (EU) and the LAC, from the perspective of inter-regionalism, especially from two of its classifications:

    Transnational and hybrid inter-regionalisms.

    Subsequently, the development of UE-LAC summits celebrated since 1999 will be described and the results of the VI EU- LAC summit from the Declaration of Madrid 2010 will be presented. Finally, some considerations to concretely highlight the results of the inter-regional encounter carried out in Madrid, Spain, conducive to the strengthening of the EU-LAC association; will be projected.
