Innovaciones en la formación del licenciado en enfermería en Latinoamérica, al inicio del siglo XXI

    Estudio descriptivo transversal en una muestra de nueve Facultades y Escuelas de Enfermería de países latinoamericanos de las 4 Subregiones de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Escuelas y Facultades de Enfermería (ALADEFE), realizado en el año 2001, con el propósito de conocer el perfil del Licenciado en Enfermería, los hechos que han generado modificaciones curriculares, los cambios realizados en sus planes de estudios en los últimos 3 años y los requisitos necesarios para certificar la formación del licenciado. La recolección de los datos se realizó a través de un instrumento estructurado para responder por vía electrónica.

    Se observó que el perfil del licenciado se orienta hacia un profesional generalista, capacitado para la asistencia integral del individuo, familia y comunidad, la gestión y administración, investigación y educación. Las transformaciones en el plan de estudios se realizaron en ética, investigación, informática, interacción y comunicación humana, y fundamentos para el liderazgo. Se identificaron como hechos y procesos que han generado las modificaciones: las autoevaluaciones, cambios sociopolíticos, epidemiológicos, demográficos, científico-tecnológicos y del mercado laboral. Entre las nuevas competencias, y paradigmas de aprendizaje se mencionan la reflexión crítica, autoaprendizaje, aprendizaje basado en problemas, estudios de casos, investigación bibliográfica, uso de simuladores.

    Se concluye que el licenciado en enfermería es un graduado con sólida formación en la disciplina que le permite desarrollar su rol profesional con autonomía, con fundamentos éticos para proporcionar un cuidado humanizado y con clara evidencia de su función social.

    Descriptive transversal study realized in 2001 from a sample of nine faculties and schools of nursing in Latin American countries in the four sub-regions of the Latin America association of schools and faculties of nursing (ALADEFE). The purpose wear to know the profile of the licenciate in nursing, the facts that generated the curricula modifications, the changes done in the academic plans in the post three years, and the requirements needed for certification toward professionalization.

    The recollection of data was done through an instrument to he answered by electronic media.

    It was observed that the profile of the licenciate was oriented toward a professional generality with capacity to give integral assistence to individual, family and community, management and administration, research and educations. The transformations in the academic plans were done on ethics, research, informatics, interaction, human communication and the fundamentals of leadership.

    As the facts and processes of such modifications were identified:

    Self-evaluation, changes in the socio-political, epidemiologic, demographic scientific and technological aspects and work opportunities.

    Among the new competencies and paradigm of learning it were mentioned the reflexive criticism, self-learning, learning based an problems, case studies, documental research and the use of simulators,.

    It concludes that the licenciate in nursing is a graduate with solid formation in the discipline who has the opportunity to develop the professional rol with autonomy and ethical base to give humanly care and a clear evidence of the social function.
