Abstract

RESUMEN En este artículo realizaremos un análisis de la obra: Female Extension, de Cornelia Sollfrank, como una de las prácticas artísticas ciberfeministas que se desarrollaron al comienzo del movimiento. Realizada en el entorno virtual, como parte de una obra de net art con discurso feminista en los años 90. La pieza consistía en crear de manera ficticia a más de doscientas artistas internacionales como participantes del primer concurso de Net Art. Para que debido a la gran cantidad de concursantes mujeres, tuvieran mayor oportunidad de ganar alguno de los tres premios del concurso. Aunq ue formaban la mayoría del total de participantes, los ganadores fueron tres hombres. Observaremos su propuesta metodológica y cómo se relacionó con el contexto social para el que fue creada, además de su lectura en la actualidad.

ABSTRACT In this article we will make an analysis of the work: Female Extension, by Cornelia Sollfrank, as one of the most relevant cyberfeminist artistic practices of the movement. Developed in the virtual environment, as part of a net art work with feminist discourse in the 1990s. The piece consisted of fictitiously creating more than two hundred international artists as participants in the first Net Art contest. Large number of female contestants, had the greatest opportunity to win any of the three prizes in the contest. Although they formed the majority of the total of participants, the winners were three men. We will observe its methodological proposal and how it was related to the social context for which it was created, in addition to its reading today.
