El cuento boliviano del siglo XXI: ruptura de fronteras en los cuentos de Giovanna Rivero, Magela Baudoin y Liliana Colanzi

Abstract

En el artículo se repasa el recorrido del cuento en Bolivia durante los primeros diecisiete años del siglo XXI. El texto plantea un somero panorama que arranca con la publicación de una antología de cuentos el año 2000 e intenta señalar las líneas que ha tomado el género hasta la actualidad. Posteriormente se analiza la obra cuentística de tres de las escritoras bolivianas más relevantes del momento: Giovanna Rivero, Magela Baudoin, Liliana Colanzi. El análisis pone especial interés en el uso de las diferentes formas de la parodia en sus cuentos y la manera en que a partir del humor se rompe diferentes fronteras que marcan las contradicciones de la vida moderna en una sociedad donde aún perviven rasgos premodernos.

The article reviews the history of the genre of short story in Bolivia during the first seventeen years of the 21st century. The text begins with a brief overview of the gender situation in the country. In the first place we talk about the publication of an anthology of stories in the year 2000, and try to point out the lines that the genre has taken until the present time. Later we analyze the literary work of three of the most important writers of the moment. They are Giovanna Rivero, Magela Baudoin, Liliana Colanzi. Their work is analyzed from the treatment of the different forms of parody and the humor they make in their short stories. On the other hand it is contemplated how the humor is employed to show the contradictions of modern life in a society where still premodern traits survive.
