This article gives a detailed description of the library that belonged to the Spanish general vicar of the bishopric of the Catalan city of Girona, Francesc Veray. The author writes the biography of Francesc Veray, who also was a canon of Girona's cathedral, and, focusing in 1787, analyses every book contained in his library, from the places of edition to the subjects treated in them. Those books provide us valuable information about book's international trade as well as about the spread of titles and authors in Europe and in America. Antón Pelayo also shows how gifts and sales had influenced this book trading. In canon Veray's library, we can note an absolute dominion of legal books and a profile that can be linked with the legal culture of the XVIIth century.
