Conflicts often emerge for minor matters, and not so trivial, and the consequences are, so often, severe: beatings, injuries and deaths were frequent in these centuries. To resolve the conflicts, laws were enacted and courts were established. Neighbours make use of these means posing lawsuits, but they are aware of the cost of litigation knowing that does not always solve the conflict. Then, people in Orihuela turned to other procedures where ethics and religion joined: signed agreements of peace to prevent conflict, and give pardons so as to resolve the situation broken after the conflict. All with the goal of living in peace among neighbours and to improve community life.
