    Como el más novedoso de los pintores sevillanos del segundo tercio del pasado siglo XX hay que definir al pintor portuense, afincado en la ciudad del Guadalquivir, Juan Miguel Sánchez Fernández, tanto por lo plural y novedosa técnica cuanto, sobre todo, por su valentía formal. Juan Miguel interesa por su modernidad artística, sin renunciar a la figuración tradicional. Supo infundir valores actuales a su pintura, en la que aparte el magisterio de Bacarisas se aprecian influencias de Vázquez Díaz, a la que imprimió un cierto sentido costumbrista y dotó de una rica cromática inmersa en un moderado fauvismo.

    The painter born in El Puerto e Santa María , Juan Miguel Sánchez is the one who affords more newness into the Sevillian School of the first part of the 20th century. He was staying in Seville for a long part of his life, and he presents a new tecnichal style in his painting. Juan Miguel Sánchez is a modern artist, and without renouncing to traditional figurative painting, he knew how to add new elements to it. He follows Bacarisas and Vázquez Díaz�s style, and yet he is able to imprint popular elements, together with fauvist chromatism, to his painting.
