    La Constitución chilena vigente, si bien ha sido objeto de múltiples reformas en sus treinta años de existencia, no ha podido saldar la deuda de legitimidad ni transformarse en un texto representativo de la pluralidad social del país. El presente artículo revisa de manera crítica la génesis de la Constitución, el anhelo fundacional que la dictadura le imprimió al texto y la particular autoatribución del Poder Constituyente por parte de la Junta de Gobierno. Asimismo, queda pendiente saldar la deuda de legitimación democrática por parte de la ciudadanía.

    The current chilean Constitution, although it has undergone many alterations during its thirty years of existence, could not repay the debt of legitimacy and become a representative text of the social diversity of the country. This article critically reviews the genesis of the Constitution, the founding wish that the dictatorship he printed the text and the particular self-attribution of the Constituent Power by the military authorities. Also, it remains to settle the debt of democratic legitimacy by the citizenry.
