Resumen de Reporte de errores médicos como estrategia para la prevención de eventos adversos

  Introducción. El error médico es un evento aparentemente frecuente a nivel mundial, con bajo reporte, registro y comprobación. Los Sistemas de Salud están realizando acciones para controlarlo, y disminuir con ello los daños a los pacientes. En México, conamed ha puesto en operación un sistema informático en la Web para el reporte anónimo de los errores médicos, cuyos datos estadísticos se analizan en este artículo. Material y métodos. Es un estudio descriptivo y transversal; se revisaron 200 accesos a la página Web en los que se presuponía había reportes de error médico. Resultados.

  Se identifican 154 reportes válidos y se identificaron solo 14 casos con información relativa a error médico y se clasificaron con tres diferentes sistemas internacionales. Conclusiones. Es necesario incrementar la cultura del reporte del error médico, contar con un sistema confiable, y establecer las estrategias estadísticas para el análisis y control.

  Introduction. Medical error is an apparently frequent event at world-wide level, with low report, registration and verification.

  Health Systems are in a battle to control and diminish the damages to the patients. In Mexico, the National Commission of Medical Arbitration (conamed), develop an informatic web-based system of medical error report, whose statistical data are analyzed in this article. Material and methods. This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study; we reviewed 200 accesses to the web page, in that it was estimated were reports of medical error. Results. We identified 154 valid reports and only 14 cases with information of medical error. They were classified with three different international systems.

  Discussion. It is necessary to increase the culture of the report of the medical error, to count on a reliable system, and to establish the statistical strategies for the analysis and control.
