Escalas de avaliação da identidade sociomoral e civica: i - estrutura psicométrica

    In this article we describe three psychometric scales originally designed by the authors � the Scale of Sociomoral Identity (EISM), the Scale of Sociomoral Sensitivity (ESSM) and the Scale of Democratic orientation (ED) � aiming to assess the cognitive, social and political orientations of university students. The scales were tested with a sample of 860 subjects. Further studies using these scales show that its psychometric characteristics make it useful and valid instruments of measurement of psychosocial parameters such as sociomoral and political identity of university students.

    Descrevem-se três escalas originalmente construídas para avaliar as orientações cognitivas, sociais e políticas de estudantes do ensino superior: a Escala de Identidade Sociomoral (EISM), a Escala de Sensibilidade Sociomoral (ESSM) e a Escala de Democraticidade (ED). A análise psicométrica teve por base uma amostra de 860 estudantes do ensino superior (Gonçalves, 2005). Os dados obtidos indicam que as escalas possuem uma estrutura factorial clara e as diversas subescalas são internamente consistentes. Em dois artigos subsequentes, serão apresentados os estudos de validade e as investigações substantivas envolvendo os contructos subjacentes às escalas aqui descritas.
