    En el siglo XIX, J.G. Frazer explicó el mitema oriental del dios que muere y resucita mediante una comparación con los ciclos de la naturaleza. Así, dicha creencia estaría ligada a una agricultura y a unas fiestas acordes con el calendario anual de la vegetación mediterránea. Más tarde, el hallazgo de la biblioteca de Ugarit suministró textos muy precisos sobre ese relato mítico, de forma que conocemos ahora mejor esos avatares divinos. Los nuevos documentos, unidos a la orientación helioscópica de algunos altares y templos fenicios de la diáspora colonial, sugieren una hipótesis distinta, aquella que liga el mito a la aparente parada solsticial... (Leer más) de nuestra estrella. La propuesta astronómica parece más robusta que la naturalista en tanto que justifica mejor los entresijos de esa historia sagrada.

    In the 19th century, J.G. Frazer explained the oriental theme of the god that dies and resuscitates through a comparison with the cycles of nature. Thus, this belief would have been linked to an agriculture and a series of festivities in accord with the annual calendar of the Mediterranean vegetation. Later, the discovery of the library of Ugarit provided very precise texts on this mythical story, and so these divine matters are now better understood. The new documents, along with the helioscopic orientation of some of the Phoenician altars and temples of the colonial diasporas, suggest a different hypothesis which links this myth to the apparent... (Leer más) solstitial pause of our star. The astronomic interpretation seems more solid than the naturalist view since it better justifies the mysteries of this sacred story.
