Resumen de El Programa de Orientación Educativa y Sociolaboral: un instrumento para facilitar la toma de decisiones en Educación Secundaria

  INTRODUCCIÓN. El objetivo de esta investigación es ayudar al alumnado de 3º y 4º de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria en el proceso de toma de decisiones. Con esta finalidad se aplicó el Programa de Orientación Educativa y Sociolaboral (POES) en Tutoría y en diferentes materias. METODOLOGÍA. En la investigación participó el alumnado, el profesorado y la orientadora de un centro público de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria de la isla de Tenerife, así como una asesora de la Universidad de La Laguna. Se emplearon instrumentos y técnicas de recogida de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos: un cuestionario, entrevistas individuales y grupales y actas de reuniones de trabajo. RESULTADOS. 1) La puesta en marcha del POES supuso para los tutores la introducción de cambios sustanciales en la planificación de la Tutoría. 2) El alumnado modificó su percepción de la Tutoría: de concebirla como una hora de recuperación de asignaturas se configura como una materia relevante para construir su proyecto de vida. 3) La integración del POES en el currículo posibilitó al profesorado percibir la dimensión orientadora de las asignaturas y su vinculación con los contenidos de la Tutoría, apostando por una línea de trabajo común. 4) Para la orientadora la propuesta de trabajo colaborativa resultó un reto, a la par que evitó que sintiera la «soledad del corredor de fondo», producida por la cascada de delegación de funciones que se suman a las tareas propias. CONCLUSIONES. El POES y su propuesta de proyección de la Tutoría hacia las materias y de las materias hacia la Tutoría constituye un medio para facilitar la transición entre etapas educativas y de inserción en el mercado de trabajo de los jóvenes. Asimismo, el POES es un paso para la creación de una cultura de trabajo colaborativo y una oportunidad para generar un espacio para el diálogo, la reflexión y la crítica sobre el trabajo docente.

  INTRODUCTION. The aim of this research is to facilitate 3rd and 4th year Secondary School students decision making processes. The Educational and Socio-labour Guidance Program was applied with this purpose in tutoring as well as in different subjects. METHODOLOGY. 3rd and 4th year students, teachers and the school adviser of a public Secondary School of Tenerife island took part in the research along with a university adviser. Qualitative and quantitative instruments were used to obtain information: a questionnaire, individual and collective interviews and work meeting minutes. RESULTS. 1) The application of the Educational and Socio-labour Guidance Program supposed the introduction of substantial changes in the tutoring planning for teachers. 2) Students modified their perception of the tutoring. They consider it now a relevant subject to construct their life project, instead of an hour devoted to catching up the subjects. 3) The integration of the program in the curriculum implied for teachers the possibility of perceiving the guidance dimension of subjects and its link with the contents of tutoring, thus supporting common performance trends. 4) The collaborative work became a challenge for the school adviser. Moreover, it prevented her from feeling the «loneliness of the long distance runner» produced by a domino delegated task were added to some other functions. CONCLUSIONS. The Educational and Socio-labour Guidance Program and its offer of tutoring projection toward the subjects and the subjects toward the tutoring constitutes a way of facilitating the transition of students between educational stages and their insertion in the labor market. Likewise, the program constitutes a step for the creation of a collaborative work culture in Secondary School, as well as an opportunity to generate a space for dialogue, reflection and criticism on teaching work.
