Notas sobre el Centro de Estudios Históricos y su papel en la formación de la Escuela Española de Lingüística

    Hi ha determinades parcel·les de la historiografia lingüística que, per diverses raons, resten quasi oblidades en l'ensenyament universitari dels estudis de filologia. Una d'aquestes parcel·les és la labor del Centro de Estudios Históricos de Madrid així com l'escola lingüística, encapçalada per Menéndez Pidal, que al seu si es va crear. L'estudiant la va coneixent d'una forma fragmentada i, per tant, no arriba a adonar-se de la relació existent entre els diferents elements que varen fer possibles els avenços en matèria lingüística i filològica que es produïren a Espanya durant els primers trenta anys del segle XX. Aquest article, després de presentar breument alguns aspectes de la tasca realitzada pel CEH, només pretén servir de toc d'atenció d'aquest fet, tot i manifestant la necessitat d'incloure als plans d'estudis la consideració de la història de la lingüística hispànica de forma global i no com a fragments que formen part d'altres matèries.

    There are some matters in the historiography of linguistics that, for several reasons, remain almost forgotten in phylological studies at the University. One of these is the work of the Centro de Estudios Históricos in Madrid, and of the Escuela Española de Lingüística and their scholars, with Menéndez Pidal at the head. Students only know parts of this work and, therefore, they cannot come to comprehend the whole sense of the relation between the different components that made possible the advances in linguistics and philology which occurred in Spain during the first thirty years of the twentieth century. After having presented some aspects of the work carried out by and at the CEH, we only want, in this article, to attract attention to the above fact, in order to manifest the need to include the study of the history of hispanic linguistics as a whole and not as separate subjects in the curriculum.
