    Nowadays, new challenges are faced day after day and the speed at which changes happen goes faster and faster. The knowledge that an organization has and constantly acquires has turned into one of the most competitive elements for it to last longer and be successful. In this context, knowledge became the most important economic and strategic factor in the current global scene where we live. This evidence supports the view that wikis environment offers excellent potential for providing organizations with a broad spectrum of information, which can be developed and shared in order to make them competent to carry out their work. As conclusion of the careful study of this subject, it was proven that the tools which wikis supply an organization with can promote not only interaction and development, but also stimulate the creation of knowledge between individuals and teams in the organizations.

    Nos tempos atuais, em que os desafios são constantes e a velocidade da mudança atinge proporções imensas, o conhecimento passa a ser considerado o grande diferencial competitivo das organizações que pretendem ter longevidade e sucesso. Nesse contexto, o conhecimento passou a ser o fator de produção mais importante no atual cenário global em que vivemos. Sob esta ótica, são abordadas no presente artigo as potencialidades dos ambientes wikis no sentido de proverem às organizações uma maior capacidade de promover a criação e compartilhamento de conhecimento, tornando-as mais competitivas. Como conclusão do estudo realizado, evidenciou-se que as ferramentas wikis podem promover a interação, o desenvolvimento, e conseqüentemente estimular a criação de conhecimento entre os indivíduos nas organizações.
