    Researchers interested in the genealogical method are invited to looking for discontinuities and ruptures in the history. Then, this paper focuses the genealogy method, used by Michel Foucault, in the analysis of the productive side of the power. The methods used in this paper are: (1) the analysis of the social disciplinary practices and (2 the analysis of the discursive formations. The power is not somewhat static. It is very dynamic and productive; and it has a positivistic site, according to Foucault. In this way, the power is able to produce the truth of a historical period, in a specific historical context, by disciplinary practices.     Pesquisadores interessados no método genealógico são convidados a buscar pelas descontinuidades e rupturas na história. Logo, este artigo enfoca o método genealógico, usado por Michel Foucault, na análise do lado produtivo do poder. Os métodos utilizados neste artigo são: (1) a análise das práticas sociais disciplinares e (2) a análise das formações discursivas. O poder não é algo estático. Ele é muito dinâmico e produtivo; e ele tem um lado de positividade, de acordo com Foucault. Desta forma, o poder será capaz de produz a verdade de um período histórico, em um contexto histórico específico, por meio de práticas disciplinares.
