L'home de França, de Josep Antoni Chauvel: entre la norma i el dialecte

  • Ante una novela como L'home de Franea, la primera de Josep Antoni Chauvell, hay que reconocer el esfuerzo del autor para desarrollar dentro de un territorio como La Litera-lingüísticamente catalán pero territorialmente aragonés- una obra digna de consideración usando el catalán común, pero sin olvidar las características del dialecto occidental. Así, pues, partiendo de esa primera obra de Chauvell, nos hemos propuesto determinar y analizar los elementos propios de la variedad dialectal catalana que el autor utiliza, casi siempre de manera intencionada, con el objetivo claro de arraigar su obra a una tradición particular. De esta manera, Chauvell demuestra que el proceso de cohesión de la comunidad lingüística catalana no ha de suponer necesariamente la desaparición de los rasgos lingüísticos particulares de un dialecto. = In the face of Uhome de Fran~a, the first novel written by Josep Anto-ni Chauvell, wie must acknowledge the effort of the author (within the Catalan county of La Litera as far as linguistic matters are concerned but within Arago-nese territory regarding geograplúcal borders) to write a praiseworthy bocik mainly in Standard Catalan but without obliving the main features of the Wes-tern Catalan dialect. Hence, on the basis of his first novel, wie have determined to analyse on purpose the features typical of the Catalan dialectal varietY used by the author with the main aim of rooting his work to a particular tradition. In this way Chauvell shows that the process of joining the whole of the Catalan lin-guistic community must not imply necessarily the disappearance of the linguis-tic features of a small dialect
